  4. @Raj… A very imaginative story but unfortunately he is just abother doomtard with the use of numbers, conspiracies & phophecies as once again nature does not know time or dates or numbers so this is just cooincidental.
Also we are talking about a small piece of rock which could be easily nuked & its better to have a million small pebbles hitting Earth than a 400 metre pebble so once again there is no threat from the skies.
I guess in another 24 hours time we will know right?
There is too many BS theories going on first with Planet X then Elenin & now YU55.
This YU55 comes round every 11 years & its closest approach is almost identical each time so why should decide to suddenly impact Earth?
If it is then that would make me beleive that it was purposely moved of its regular orbit by powers that be but, thats a big doubt in my mind so lets just see!

  5. This asteroid may or may not pose any threat to mankind. The reason for someone to spent time & do a research and bring out a story is simple. . . .”Suspicion”. Suspicion about space matters, especially when a (so called) “reliable body” places a black patch to hide away truth to begin with. . . . . Now if we bury our heads in sand and assume that everything around us is going fine . . . . . Think about it, it will only lead us to darkness.

  6. Where in the night sky can I see this thing coming….like when I look at Jupiter, it is a large bright star. Can I not see YU55 coming. I am interested in seeing it in the night sky….where do I look?

  8. Will we be able to see it from the ground? With a high-powered binoculars or telescope, yes. You’ll need an objective lens at least 70mm or larger to see the asteroid as it passes at 3:28pm PST on November 8, and that of course, will depend on your location, the weather conditions and light pollution. It’ll be moving fast, thought, “If you see it in your telescope, you’ll see it moving-The closest approach to Earth and the Moon will be respectively 0.00217 AU and 0.00160 AU on 2011 November 8 at 23:28 (3:28pm PST) and November 9 at 07:13 UT (11:13pm PST, Nov 8.) Since the asteroid will approach the Earth from the sunward direction, it will be a daylight object until the time of closest approach. The best time for new ground-based optical and infrared observations will be late in the day on November 8, after 21:00 hours UT (1pm PST) from the eastern Atlantic and western Africa zone. A few hours after its close Earth approach, it will become generally accessible for optical and near-IR observations but will provide a challenging target because of its rapid motion across the sky.”

  9. this is really funny to me, all these doomdayers are wrong AGAIN, yesterday; “asteroid 2005 YU55 is gunna hit earth, itll kill us all!!!!”, news today: “asteroid 2005 YU55 passed between the earth and the moon at a distance of 350000 km…”. now i guess theylll all put their attention onto another asteroid and wrongly guess its path AGAIN

  10. it came very close to earth in its flyby-im in the williston district in south africa-we have a 16inch meade telescope-with celestron nexstar imager-we rracked it as it came over the horizon-by having the co-ordinates into the pc-telescope tracking system-we will analyse all the images taken-it was a close call,we not quite sure what is going to happen-as its quite possible that it could very well enter some debris ahead-extremely close-call in astronomy terms

  12. We will be monitoring the skies if we catch wind of anything. Check out our images of YU55, we took them using the GRAS observatory in New Mexico: http://antifacts.com/?p=138
