UFO or BALL LIGHTNING over New Orleans – April 02, 2012

Ball Lightning

Incredible UFO sighting filmed over New Orleans on April 2, 2012?

Or is it a rare weather phenomenon called Ball Lightning, during a thunderstorm?

Given inconsistencies and the lack of reliable data, the true nature of ball lightning is still unknown. Until recently, ball lightning was often regarded as a fantasy or a hoax. Reports of the phenomenon were dismissed for lack of physical evidence, and were often regarded the same way as UFO sightings.

Ball lightning is an unexplained atmospheric electrical phenomenon. The term refers to reports of luminous, usually spherical objects which vary from pea-sized to several metres in diameter. It is usually associated with thunderstorms, but lasts considerably longer than the split-second flash of a lightning bolt. Many of the early reports say that the ball eventually explodes, sometimes with fatal consequences, leaving behind the odour of sulfur.

It was an amazing sight to see. my daughter and I noticed a neon green ball that was as bright as a flare falling from the sky. It was slow like a shooting star. it fell slowly then disappeared into air. It lasted about 15 sec. It was seen here around 8:25 pm in Afton/Janesville Wisconsin. We wished upon that shooting star only to find out later it was seen around the world and was a meterorite. Danele Maurer of Afton WisconsinLunar Meteorite Hunters
